a. Special Task Force to Facilitate Business (PEMUDAH) under JPM spot checked the Department of Lands and Mines and discovered a pile of leases which have not been identified and collected for years.

b. PEMUDAH noticed the pile of documents, including those documents that were processed as early as 2004, yet left uncollected until now.

c. Dr. Seo, Dato’ Wong and Dato’ Chua Tian Guan pointed out that this is the case with each and every State in Malaysia and is especially serious in Selangor i.e., Shah Alam, PJ and some of the Federal Territory (WP) branches.

d. Dr. Seo said that many lawyers did not follow up with their clients after receiving legal fees from the house buyers and this phenomenon has attract the attention of Selangor and WP Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Institute of Bankers Malaysia(IBBM ).

e. Dato’ Wong said that the lack of publicity of Lands Offices on the complete lease certificate to the public is one of the reasons for the pile of uncollected documents.
