Tax Refund by Inland Revenue Board of Malaysia (LHDN)

The Inland Revenue Board of Malaysia (LHDN) has taken the following steps to improve its services to the public:

i.
Reducing the duration for refunding of excess tax paid to individuals and companies from one year to between 14 to 30 days in
  cases of submissions through e-filing;

ii.
Refunding excess of tax paid for the current year assessment without referring to the previous assessed year(s);

iii.
Resolving outstanding assessments prior to the current year and collecting taxes or refunding excess tax paid, if applicable,
  therefrom separately; and

iv.
Refunding excess of tax paid directly without having the tax payee to make a direct and formal application.
