LAND MATTERS

1. Improvements in Land Management and Transfers

Measures undertaken by Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment include:

Clearing 95% of the back-log for approvals dating back from 2003 to 2007.
Undertaking amendments of 25 provisions under the National Land Code to improve land management such as:
- to facilitate the implementation of the Electronic Land Administration System (e-Tanah) i.e. the use of digital signature;
- Co-proprietor may apply for partitioning of the land even without the consent of other co-proprietor; and
- Compounding of offences up to 50% of maximum fee.
