1. Publication of The Guidebook on Employment of Expatriates
The Guidebook on Employment of Expatriates for is published as reference tool for Malaysian-owned and foreign-owned companies operating in or planning to set up business in Malaysia.
 
2. Improvements in the Processing of Expatriate Employment Passes by The Department of Immigration Malaysia
Steps undertaken by The Department of Immigration Malaysia to improve the processing of expatriate employment passes include:
  • Providing clear definition of ‘skilled workers';
  • Processing of applications within 7 days;
  • Extending work permit tenure from 2 to 5 years per renewal;
  • Setting up of Executive Counters at all State Immigration Offices;
  • Providing application forms on-line;
  • Extending the Professional Visit Pass period to 6 months, from the 3 months previously;
  • Providing 12-months Professional Visit Pass for trainees attending company training courses in Malaysia ; and
  • Extending Dependent Pass facility to spouse and children of Professional Visit Pass holder.
